5 Content Blogs To Follow for Personal Financial Tips

Over a few decades ago, if you wanted to learn about a subject, especially one outside your field of study, you had to visit your local library or sift through textbooks and sourcebooks to gather relevant information.

Today, things are different. The internet is replete with resources covering a wide range of topics. However, for the uninitiated, it can be challenging to separate the wheat from the chaff. Fortunately, the proliferation of knowledgeable experts and content creators has given voice to many whose insights help clarify complex topics.

Since our inception, Lendingpot has been dedicated to promoting financial literacy. In the spirit of that mission, today, we wanted to share several influencers to follow for personal loan comparison tips.

1. The Simple Sum

One of the first stops you should make on your journey to personal loan empowerment is to visit The Simple Sum. This blog, started in Singapore to help young people make wiser financial decisions and better financial plans, has now grown to 5 countries around the Asia Pacific region including Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei and Indonesia.

Apart from educational articles, they also present their information in the easily digestible form of comics, videos, and podcasts. Their website features a search bar that allows users to search for certain keywords, making it easy to find content relevant to personal loans.

2. MoneySense

MoneySense is a resourceful website initiated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). This national financial education programme started in 2003, and endeavours to make financial concepts more accessible and digestible to the general public. As a government initiative, you can count on the information here to be unbiased, practical and relevant. Their advantage is that, as a trusted information site, they do not need to push products or services. Therefore, the information you receive will be as neutral and trustworthy as possible.

MoneySense maintains both a Facebook and Instagram account, with a combined following of more than 50,000 followers.

4. The New Savvy

The New Savvy is a site run by thought leader, entrepreneur and investor Anna Haotanto. It offers a wide array of financial and lifestyle advice, most of which are geared towards women. Apart from a wealth of articles discussing personal loans and how they should be used, you’ll also find a useful section dedicated to debt management and resolution. What we also like is that it is written by Women for empowering Women for Finance.

While taking on loans is something everyone has a right to, it is equally important for us to know how to manage debt responsibly. The site is filled with strategies on how you can do this, and ensure a sustainable financial future for yourself in the long term. As with the other sites on our list, you’ll be able to use the search bar to navigate easily to the financial topic you would like to learn more about.
